I was over the moon when Vanessa asked me to be their wedding photographer. Not only because Vanessa and I worked together as Police Officers on the mean streets of West End many years ago haha, but also because I hadn't had the pleasure of photographing an LGBTQI+ wedding!
I remember hearing of Amanda when Vanessa first met her and dated. She spoke of her like this beautiful magical being that she couldn't believe she had the honour of connecting with...so when I finally got to meet Amanda, I was absolutely blown away by her loving Italian energy and gorgeous dark features as described ;). I could not wait to see Vanessa and Amanda on their wedding day!
So the day was an absolute blast! Vanessa got ready at Rydges Southbank and Amanda at her parents waterfront apartment. Both had lovely little touches with cards to read and surprise pressies! I love capturing a good old teary haha!
The ceremony was at Victoria Park and neither of them had seen each others dresses until the walk down the isle! Good thing they didn't buy the same dress! It was short but oh so sweet and it was straight into gelato for the guests and a photo adventure on golf buggies for the newly weds and bridal party.
My favourite part of the day was during speeches, Amanda surprised Vanessa with a song she sang and played on guitar!! Another freakin tear jerker!
It was absolutely one of the most heart felt weddings I have ever been a part of and since then, I want ALL the LGBTQI+ weddings wooooop wooooop!
This wedding was also published by Dancing With Her here.
