When Simon asked if I would photograph his wedding I was nervous but so excited at the same time. Simon is a colleague of mine in my full time job, so for him to trust me was a huge compliment and I knew I had to deliver the goods because everyone at work would be seeing my photographs!
Everyone at work knew of Simon's love story with Liz and the way he spoke about her made my heart full so I knew I was in for one hell of a day. I met with Simon and Liz prior to the wedding and it was an absolute joy just to be in their presence which was an energy of pure love. It was so obvious they were destined to be together and though they met years ago when much younger and life took them in different directions, they reunited and Simon put a ring on it so that she couldn't get away from him again haha!
One of the cutest things was how Liz spoke about her mother's excitement for the wedding and how she was organising the whole thing and just couldn't wait.....that says a lot about Simon! I was also blown away when I was told that Liz was pregnant and would be showing at the wedding......double win!
So fast forward to the wedding day, I got to capture Liz and her bridesmaids getting dolled up at her parent's gorgeous Queenslander at Hodgson Vale and then to Simon and the groomsmen in the heart of Toowoomba. The weather couldn't have been any more perfect and the light shone through the stain glassed windows of St Patrick's Cathedral as the ceremony went on. From the ceremony we travelled to the streets near Liz's parent's house that were surrounded by stunning farm land and we were lucky to get an incredible afternoon glow.
Despite being pregnant, Liz was so happy to walk through paddocks, over hills and through long grass to capture their country love story. These are the couples that I crave for!
