FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are there any hidden fees?
I hear ya! This won't be a problem at all, in fact you're going to be more of a genuine person so real heart felt images are going to be the outcome. For most of the day I will be wandering around or just hanging out taking snaps without any direction to capture the true events and emotions of the day. I will rarely intervene and will blend in and hopefully I won't even be noticed. I will stage and direct you for the location shoot however even in this situation I will get you to talk to each other, play silly games and walk/hug/kiss naturally...none of this "1, 2, 3 cheeeeeese" rubbish.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long do we have you for?
As long as you want! I can be there from the time you're getting ready to the dance floor or just for the ceremony. I have packages starting from 4 hours up to 10 hours and if you need any more, a package can be created prior to the wedding to suit your needs. If you want more time on the day, just let me know and I'm more than happy to accomodate. An invoice for my hourly rate is then sent post wedding. I do not continue to shoot after an adequate amount of dance floor photos are taken unless you have something specific like a sparkler exit you'd like captured. Once I've captured enough dance floor photos I will let you know and I will be on my way before things get too messy...no one wants a high res image of themselves slumped over, shirts hanging out and blood shot eyes half open!
I hate being photographed! Will that be a problem?

Can you take away my double chin and freckles?
You've come to the wrong place and I would suggest you look for another photographer if you're looking for an airbrushed image that hides the real you. I don't completely manipulate my photo's and I stay true to the documentary style that has most likely brought you here. I edit the look and feel of the overall photo's and at most will remove a genuine blemish or whiten teeth if needed. Embrace yo self!
Should I give you a shot list?
For the location shoot, if you want specific family members/friends photographed together, by all means provide me with a list of the groups and we'll get these done first. For the rest of the day, providing me with a list photo's that you want....not cool. Apart from the location shoot, the remainder of the day will be documentary in style and the creativity is left to me. If you're looking for a photographer that will capture specific photos that you've gathered from magazines, Instagram etc, again you've come to the wrong place.
What time of the day should I schedule the location shoot?
If you want gorgeous backdrops, even skin tones and a magical glow, schedule this shoot for the "golden hour" (the hour before sunset). The golden hour is prime time because the sun is low, no one will be squinting and who doesn't love a sunset! If we photograph in the middle of the day when the sun is at it's highest, it creates harsh shadows and light giving you big bags under your eyes, everyones squinting and eyes are watering....not pretty!
Do we provide you with a meal on the day?
I will be carrying a lot of gear around and don't have room for food enough for a sometimes 12 hour day so pretty please make sure there's a meal for me. Hangry is a real thing...just sayin.
How do we book?
Call, email, text, whatever you are most comfortable with and we will get chatting about your special day! Once availability is confirmed for your date, I will send the contract, invoice and a questionnaire. 50% of the total price is required to confirm the booking. If money is tight I am more than happy to discuss a payment plan. I don't want money coming in between you and your desired photographer!
Do we meet you before the day?
Absolutely! We can arrange a meeting to get to know each other and clear up any questions you might have after booking. If that's not possible for you, let's Skype, Facebook call or FaceTime. I don't meet in person prior to booking as it feels yucky selling myself and my time is very precious should I not be booked post meeting.
What should we wear?
Your photographs should be a reflection of the real you. How you dress, do your make-up/hair and accessorise makes you unique and this is what should be captured. Getting your make-up professionally done does have a huge impact on the photo's because of how your skin will reflect the light and your skin will be beautifully even so do consider it. I also don't airbrush the images so no skin smoothing, taking away wrinkles etc. Clothes with big brands and logos can be distracting to the main focus of the image so consider neutrals without a big Nike tick on the front.
Where should we go for a location shoot?
The photographs as a whole should reflect you as a couple/family so think about a place that is special or local to you. Or if you simply want photographs that reflect your personalities such as nature lovers or city lovers then we can easily find a location with a bit of research. A location with less people walking into the frame of the image or gawking at you making you feel uncomfortable is going to give you a much better result.
What time will the photo shoot be?
For a home photoshoot, any time of the day can work but only you know the best times where there is beautiful light through windows/doors so just let me know what suits you. If you're wanting at home and a location then it will be in the afternoon before the location shoot which will be during the hour before sunset. For a location shoot, the "golden hour"(hour before sunset) is prime time just as with weddings. This obviously changes throughout the year and if afternoons really can't work for you I will consider a sunrise session but I'm not the best morning person!
What equipment do you use?
I use Canon 5d MK IV bodies and a variety of lenses but I tend to stick with my cherished prime 85m and 35m Sigma lenses. I will only use a flash on the dance floor or when absolutely necessary.
Are there any hidden fees?
I'm a very honest person and when I look for services and see no price list and them requesting that you get in contact with them, the page is closed and I'm onto finding another. Nobody has time for stuffing around to find out they are out of your price range. Prices are what you see on the services and pricing page and I only ask for part of my travel costs to be covered. I will use Jetstar for Australian states when possible and will endeavour to find a cheap deal for overseas flights. If I am personally travelling overseas/interstate and offer services whilst over there, I will not ask for you to cover any flight costs.
Do you offer any discounts?
No I don't. My services cost the same to produce no matter what time of year it is and are appropriately priced based on my experience, cost of running the business and hours taken to communicate, shoot and edit etc.
Do you deliver a USB and prints as part of your packages like other photographers?
As a business owner, I'm able to make choices in line with my values. One of them is being less wasteful. You receive a beautiful online gallery where you can download your photos just like you would from a USB but without the waste....makes sense right? Not everyone uses prints, some only post online or use digital frames so I'd prefer to save the paper, ink, packaging and fuel for delivery if that's the case. Prints can be purchased with ease through your online gallery.
